Homeschool Days

Our hope with Combat Ministries' Homeschool Days at The Center is to create a safe and engaging space for students to learn, grow and connect. We haven't forgotten the parents. We hope this drop-off school day helps parents find others they connect with or gives a little room for alone time.

What does a Homeschool Day at The Center look like?
Located at 2717 S Central Way Anderson, IN
This is between the 25th and 32nd block on Central Way in Edgewood.
The Center is the name of the community center by Combat Ministries. The Center houses many free and paid programs, Homeschool Days is only one. Be sure to check in often to stay up to date with what's going on.
When:
Starting Wednesday, August 28th
Doors open at 8:45 am and pick-up is 2:15 pm.
Partial day options are available.
What:
Classes begin at 9:00 am and are separated by age/grade.
For the 2024-2025 school year we are offering:
Art- Curriculum is based on the Explore, Discover & Create method. This method introduces mediums, uses art history to see mediums in motion and encourages individual creations.
Science- Curriculum is age based and introduces physical science, practical science, and has hands on experiments.
Martial Arts- Curriculum is based on the Freedom Martial Arts and Fitness program. This is a belted program that teaches both Tae Kwon Do and a set of tenet life skills: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Indomitable Spirit, and Self-Control.
Lunch- A bagged lunch must be brought each week. There will also be concessions available for purchase.
Recess- There will be supervised play and community time.
Youth Group- This time is designed to create connection, encouragement and support; a time intended to meeting each student where they are. This group is divided by age and will be primarily faith based studies with a changing curriculum. We aim to keep families involved. You will receive a list of Youth Group material at the beginning of the year to study along with us at home.
Who:
Homeschool Days are intended for ages 5-18. All students must be potty trained or accompanied by an aid. Each class will be divided up in traditional Elementary, Middle and High School ages. There is also a limited parent section with WiFi and concessions available. We aim to have parent connection points and classes available, i.e. fitness class, book club. How Much:
The Homeschool Day Program is paid monthly:
Full Day - $150.00
Individual Classes- $65 per class
Family discount is $10 off each additional student i.e. Student 1 $150, Student 2 $140, Student 3 $130.
Additional help is available through our Volunteer Incentive Program. This program applies volunteer hours tou you account. Please let us know if you are interested in this option.
Other:
High School students receive:
1 Physical Education or Elective credit
1 Art or Elective credit
1 Science credit*
*This class requires work outside of on campus days.
